About S. M. Grey

Who, exactly?


S. M. Grey grew up in Tucson, Arizona where Altrameda began as a tabletop RPG character. Grey attended the University of Arizona, studying both Creative Writing and Astronomy. She graduated in 2017.

Grey moved to Adelaide, South Australia after completing her degree. There, she spends much of her free time gaming, cross-stitching, and daydreaming about robots.

The Stormforged is her first novel.

Wait, tell me more about the tabletop RPG thing.

This novel wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for the Heroes and Villains comic book store in Tucson, and all of the incredible people who played tabletop games there every Wednesday evening.

Primarily a healer, but prone to using thunder- and lightning-based spells, Altrameda was an absolute menace on the (tiny, grid-based) battlefield.

After the campaign ended, Grey decided Altrameda needed a story of her own.
